Grant opportunities:

  • Ending the Pandemic Threat: A Grand Challenge for Universal Influenza Vaccine Development. The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the Page family are launching this grand challenge during the centenary year of the 1918 flu pandemic, with the goal of identifying novel, transformative concepts that would lead to development of a truly universal flu vaccine. Such a vaccine would alleviate the need for annual seasonal influenza vaccination campaigns and would prepare the world for the next influenza pandemic. Learn more and apply here. Also see the blog. Application deadline is June 22, 2018.
  • The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has established a special fund, known as the Science, Technology and Innovation Transform Fund (IsDB-STIF) to support its member countries in finding practical solutions to their key development challenges through the power of innovation. The Transform Fund is a multi-million-dollar fund that provides seed money for innovators, startups, and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) to develop their ideas and compose a strong business proposal. Learn more and apply here. Application deadline is July 31, 2018.

Congratulations to the GCE grant recipients. Thank you for your commitment to solving the world's greatest health and development challenges.
