The Office for Research Development (ORD) is the newest addition to the Research Office’s suite of capabilities. ORD is responsible for engaging individual faculty members and teams of researchers in setting strategic, proactive, catalytic, and capacity-building activities designed to facilitate institutional competitiveness in attracting extramural research funding. The Office interacts closely with the Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP), Office of Research Integrity (ORI) and the Advantage Program (AP). However, as the role of ORD occurs at the research road-mapping phase, ORD’s role precedes proposal submission, compliance considerations, or translational research activities.
