Prepare the following information to enter into InfoReady here:
  • Descriptive Title
  • Project Summary:  3 or 4 sentences or bullet points that provide an overview of the objective of your proposed research, how you plan to do it, and the expected outcome.
  • Key PI/co-PIs:  5 or 6 sentences or bullet points that highlight team expertise as it relates to the project.
  • Budget:  Example:  The total cost of the project is anticipated to be $ X, with $ Y being requested from the Agency.  Agency funds will be used for: $ A for personnel; $ B for operations, and $ C for broader impacts/subcontracts etc. 

PROJECT DESCRIPTION (1-2 pages) - please use an 11 point or higher font with one-inch margins.

Please prepare a clear and concise statement of:

  • Vision: Describe the vision for the BioFoundry and how it will address grand challenge questions in biology, biotechnology, bioengineering or related field?   What focused research will be carried out to address the challenge?
  • Technology Development Activities: Describe how the proposed technology development will yield catalytic and transformative impact on the relevant disciplines and how this will be integrated with research.
  • Platform/Knowledge Sharing: How will the proposed BioFoundry contribute toward accelerating discovery and development, through development of new platforms and sharing of knowledge?
  • Education/Training: How will the BioFoundry serve as an educational focal point for training the next generation of researchers, technology developers, and users?
  • Diversity Plan: Describe a plan to support participation by a diverse group of users and create an inclusive environment.
  • Partnerships and Translation: Describe how the BioFoundry can foster translation and innovation including intellectual property protection, licensing, entrepreneurship, partnerships, development and distribution of open-source tools, or other knowledge transfer paths?
