Limit on Number of Proposals per Organization: 1

  • An organization may serve as a lead organization on only one proposal.
  • Proposals that exceed the organizational limit (beyond the first submission based on timestamp) will be returned without review. No exceptions will be made.

Full proposals involving multiple organizations may be submitted two ways:

  • a single submission from a lead organization, with other collaborating organizations included as subawardees, OR
  • separate submissions from a lead organization and ONE collaborating organization, with any additional collaborating organizations included as subawardees.

  • Proposals that exceed the PI or Co-PI limit (beyond the first submission based on timestamp) will be returned without review. No exceptions will be made.

 

Due Dates 

  • Internal Letter of Intent to apply due to the Research Office: September 23, 2020 (hard deadline)
  • NSF Agency Letter of Intent Due Date(s) (required) (due by 5 p.m. submitter's local time):  October 05, 2020
  • NSF Agency Full Proposal Deadline(s) (due by 5 p.m. submitter's local time): January 26, 2021

 

The Letter of Intent should identify the name and organizations of the PI, Co-PIs and other key personnel who will be involved with the project. The lead organization should be explicitly identified.

The Letter of Intent should include solicitation name and descriptive title, and brief synopsis (1 page) of:

  • the target population(s) and critical broadening participation in STEM challenge to be addressed through the Alliance,
  • the proposed collaborative infrastructure theory of action (e.g., collective impact, networked improvement community),
  • the Alliance design and activities to be undertaken, and
  • a list of potential partners.

(Note the LOI due to NSF is less than 2,500 characters)

Additional Project Information and Description (1-2 pages)

  • Key PI/co-PIs:  5 or 6 sentences or bullet points that highlight team expertise as it relates to the project.
  • Budget:  Example:  The total cost of the project is anticipated to be $ X, with $ Y being requested from the NSF.  NSF funds will be used for: $ A for personnel; $ B for operations, and $ C for broader impacts/subcontracts etc. 
  • Expected results: Describe the outcome you anticipate from the research.
