R/V Trophy

Overview

The R/V Trophy is a 19' fiberglass nearshore research and training vessel recently donated to the OSU Boating Safety Program. The vessel is effective in the estuaries, inland and near coastal waters of Oregon. The vessel is capable of supporting diving operations as well as deploying and recovering small oceanographic equipment.

Project Highlights:

The R/V Trophy is used as a training vessel for the Motorboat Operator Training Course (MOTC) which is taught every year in Astoria and Newport, OR. In this three day intensive certification course boaters from all different backgrounds and experience levels learn the basics of small boat operation. The MOTC credential is nationally recognized by most major government agencies and serves as the minimum standard of training for all OSU research vessel operators. If you or someone you know is interested in taking the MOTC course please contact the OSU Small Boat Program for upcoming training dates.
