A Request For Your Input and Feedback as OSU Selects an Electronic Research Administration System | Division of Research and Innovation

The Research Office, in collaboration with the Environmental Health & Safety Office, and with the participation of evaluation committee members representing different administrative and academic units, is evaluating six competing bids to provide OSU with an electronic research administration (eRA) system that would be used by their respective compliance offices, and by OSU faculty and staff.

The eRA initiative is designed to make it easier and less time consuming for OSU community members to maintain compliance with the many rules and regulations that govern Human Subjects research, Animal Care and Use, Conflicts of Interest, Small Boat and Diving Safety, Export Controls, Biological Safety, Chemical Safety, and Radiation Safety.

This move to an all-electronic research administration system complements, but does not replace, the CAYUSE system, which is OSU’s system for sponsored programs proposal processing.

Six vendors that responded to a request for proposals, and that made it through the initial evaluation process, provided demonstrations of their eRA products in June. These demos were open to all members of the OSU community, and were advertised openly. We are cognizant that not everyone who might have an interest in the eRA project was able to attend these sessions, so we have arranged for recordings of these sessions (or in cases where there were technical difficulties with the recordings, the vendors have provided us with recordings of sessions made later, at our request).
