Financial Conflicts of Interest in Research
Welcome to the Conflict of Interest Office
The goal: As a public land-grant institution, Oregon State University is obligated to conduct research, academic, and business activities with transparency and integrity. The university is committed to avoiding financial conflicts of interest in research that may compromise, or appear to compromise, the integrity and objectivity of research. The university encourages engagement in outside activities and relationships that enrich the research enterprise, so it is not unusual that real or perceived conflicts of interest may arise.
Our approach: The key to effectively identifying and managing financial conflicts of interest in research is full and timely disclosure of the financial interests that reasonably appear to be related to one’s university responsibilities.
Your resource: This website is your resource for understanding the requirements for disclosure, updates to disclosures, training, and the policies related to COI management and transparency.
Your partner: The COI Office is your partner in navigating COI and answering questions. Please email us at [email protected].
The university requires COI training and disclosures of all active researchers.
