Cayuse Support

Overview

OSU currently uses the Cayuse Research Suite as its web-based proposal development and submission system. Cayuse SP (Sponsored Programs) serves as our internal routing and approval system. Cayuse 424 (system-to-system platform) is a web-based software service that streamlines the development, collaboration, and electronic submission of grant proposals to federal agencies, acting as a system-to-system interface specifically with Grants.gov.

Cayuse has some in-system guidance available as you prepare a proposal. The OSRAA Proposals Team is also available for guidance and general support. Most colleges and some other non-academic units on campus have Pre-Award research administration staff available to help navigate the Cayuse process as well. Please contact your individual CARE support staff or [email protected] for assistance.

Quick Tips

  • Preliminary proposals / pre-applications and LOIs do not need to be routed through Cayuse.
  • The Cayuse Research Suite can be accessed on various browsers on either Windows or Macintosh systems.
  • When you log into the Cayuse Research Suite, this is the first page you will see as you enter (see image below). Click on “Cayuse SP” to begin a new proposal.

  • Once you start developing your Cayuse proposal, if you find that the Sponsor or a Sub-recipient does not appear to be listed in Cayuse, complete a request to register a new Sponsor or a new Sub-recipient (see quick links above).
  • Proposals can take a few days to fully route through department/college/other leadership for administrative approvals. OSRAA recommends you route seven (7) or more business days prior to a submission deadline to ensure you are able to meet internal review timelines and can receive a full compliance review.
